History of the Club

The Club was formed in the early 1960s at the instigation of Mrs Lou Wilson-Jones (Diant) together with a group of local Labrador enthusiasts.  One of these, Peggy Rae is still actively involved in the running of the Club.

The Club held its first Open Show in 1964 and its first Championship Show in 1969.

You can see who has judged the club events by clicking the appropriate link below:-

Field Trials came a little later, the first being held in October 1970.  The first Open Qualifying stake took place in October 1980.

If any club members have any memories of the club or old photo's they would be prepared to share we would love to feature them on this page, so please send them to the website editor for inclusion.
